ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Cassie Whitlow used to dream of being a professional singer, but her destiny led her to the pen instead of the mic. After earning her BA in Criminal Justice and MS in Psychology, she worked various jobs in the behavioral sciences field including Probation Officer, Youth Mentor, and Substance Abuse Counselor. It wasn’t until around 2015, following a major health battle, when a friend encouraged her to begin journaling, that Cassie began to fall in love with writing.  This would eventually lead to a fulfilling writing career. In addition to writing, Cassie is an Eighth grade English/Language Arts teacher in San Antonio, TX. When Cassie is not writing and teaching young minds, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. In addition, she enjoys reading historical fiction, singing, horseback riding, and playing guitar.

Cassie uses the written word to encourage, entertain, and uplift readers. She creates relatable characters, who grapple with issues she herself has a passion for: Women’s mental, emotional, and physical health. Her fiction features themes related to personal growth, character building, forgiveness, and family. She uses real life issues to better connect with her readers.

In addition to writing, Cassie teaches English/Language arts to middle school students. She's also a Fiction Writing coach, who enjoys teaching other budding authors how to successfully create and publish their work of fiction. Cassie is a native a Camden, Arkansas and currently lives in Las Vegas with her husband and two children.
